How to account for a customer credit?


Client assets granted by an enterprise must be registered. But it all depends on the nature of the asset and the date on which it was granted. Back on this accounting manipulation essential for businesses.
Accounting for client assets during the year
When a customer credit is granted by the company at the same time as the fiscal year, it must imperatively be recognized at the beginning of a product account. Account 709, Rebates, rebates and rebates granted by the company, and account 4571, that is to say the VAT collected, should be debited . The individual entrepreneur (EI) must also record the income received as revenue . If , however, VAT is applicable (except in the case of exemption from VAT), the funds raised will be considered as turnover taxable according to the same rules as the micro-enterprise
The manager of a company will have to consider the funds received as products to be recorded in the accounts "771 Exceptional management products" or "758 Other products of day-to-day management". The VAT will be applicable once a counterpart appears. These transactions will be taxable in respect of income tax or corporation tax.
